What Athens County Death Certificates Show

A certified death certificate from Athens County lists the full name of the deceased, date of birth, date and place of death, cause and manner of death, and the names of both parents. It includes the decedent's marital status, usual address, and social security number. The SSN is redacted for five years after death under Section 3705.23 unless the requestor is authorized.
